Decks and waveforms
Each detected deck shows its position, BPM, pitch, playback state, and two flags that are not the same thing: master — the one giving the network its tempo — and on air — the one the room actually hears.
The waveform is the real rekordbox waveform, fetched from the deck, with its beat grid and phrases. It is not a reconstruction: it is the same data the CDJ shows on its own screen.
The number of decks is never limited by the licence. Limiting it would mean throwing away state mid-night: a play log with holes, a timecode locked to an invisible deck, and nothing on screen to say why.
