Getting MTC out with no MIDI interface

A virtual MIDI port is enough to join WinShow to a workstation on the same machine.

  1. 01Install loopMIDIIt is the most widespread utility for creating virtual MIDI ports on Windows. Any equivalent will do.
  2. 02Create a port and name itGive it a name you will recognise — WinShow TC, for instance. WinShow names ports by their name, so a clear one will save you hunting.
  3. 03Arm a slot on MTCIn the Timecode view, pick the source, the frame rate, then MTC as the transport, and select the port you just created.
  4. 04Listen to the port on the receiverIn your workstation or cue software, set the MTC input to the same port and switch it to slave.
