When it leaves
On change only. Never as a periodic frame.
WinShow sends only what changed. A periodic frame was tried on the bench and then dropped: it made indicators flicker and a stable BPM leave again with nothing having moved.
- The BPM is rounded to the hundredth — the resolution of the original protocol.
- A pitch sweep does not produce a burst: sends are coalesced, ten per second at most, the last value always winning.
- A BPM of zero is never sent. A zero received by a console is a speed, not an absence; we stay quiet and the console keeps its value.
- A stop is announced by the
playingfield going to 0, never by a null BPM.
