The DJ’s mixer
An external mixer tells nobody which channel the room hears. Declare it, and the on-air markers stop guessing.
A deck says whether it plays. It does not say whether the room hears it — that is the mixer’s business, and an external mixer broadcasts nothing. WinShow used to infer the live channel. It now says it does not know, rather than showing one that may be wrong.
Declare the mixer in Settings → Engine → The DJ’s mixer.
| Declared | What the on-air markers do |
|---|---|
| A mixer on the Link network | The mixer says which channel is live, and the markers follow it. |
| An external mixer | Nothing on the wire says what the room hears. The markers do not leave, and the bar says why. |
| Unknown | The same as an external mixer: silence rather than a guess. |
