What WinShow does

WinShow reads the DJ’s decks and generates the SMPTE timecode that drives lights and video, from a Windows machine.

The principle fits in one sentence: a deck plays, WinShow follows its position frame by frame, and outputs a timecode that advances exactly as it does. A lighting cue list locked to that timecode therefore follows the DJ, including when they slow down, speed up, or hand over to another deck.

This is not the same thing as a tempo. A tempo says how fast it is going; a timecode says where you are. A show cut to a tempo is on the beat; a show cut to a timecode is synchronised. WinShow outputs both, and the screen tells you which one you are using.

  • Four decks followed live: position, BPM, pitch, playback, master and on air.
  • Up to four timecode outputs at once, as LTC on a sound card or MTC on a MIDI port.
  • The tempo over OSC to lighting consoles and VJ software.
  • A show: tracks, markers, their pre-roll, and what they fire.
  • A play log exported as CSV and PDF.
