When the source stops

The counter freezes, and it says why. It never switches on its own.

If the source deck stops, drops off the network or changes track, the slot freezes on its last value and shows the reason in plain words: "deck 4 no longer advances". The other slots carry on, independently.

This behaviour is deliberate. A timecode that resumed on another deck by itself would make the cue list jump mid-transition, and nobody on screen could say why. Freezing is visible; switching silently is not.

To make an output follow the DJ automatically, do not rely on a switch: pick "the master" as the source. That is the explicit setting that does this job.
